Valuing Volunteers
Through projects such as the following the Office of Rail Heritage acknowledges and promotes rail heritage volunteering.
Conservation Volunteers Australia
One of the most exciting developments is the 12 month pilot Heritage Rail Care Program being delivered through Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) in partnership with the Office of Rail Heritage and rail heritage groups. The program aims to:
- generate a railway heritage skills register and record specialised techniques
- complete projects allowing volunteers to learn from each other and develop key skills
- attract a new generation of volunteers
This investment in people will contribute to the ongoing sustainability of the State's railway heritage.
