Central we have separation - 10 June 2010
We reached a milestone today with the Powder Van project. RailCorp's Rail Recovery /Breakdown Crew used their hydraulic jacks and ingenuity to lift the body and roll the sub-frame from underneath. This will improve the Restoration Project team's access and enable us to work over two work areas.

The Breakdown Crew have a long history of assisting heritage projects and were thanked today for their efforts.

Pat Donoghue says he remembers placing locos at Thirlmere and in the Powerhouse museum as far back as the 70s.

In particular the crew have helped with heritage/apprentice training projects. In 2004 they removed the bogies from the CPH18 at Wetherill Park TAFE (see picture). In 2009 they placed the PayBus on Central Station for display and later removed it. Many people had their doubts that this would be possible.

Below are a few pictures of today's work. Thanks once again to the Breakdown Crew.
